I'm underweight, and currently weak. Bought a gym membership recently and was wondering what is a good workout program that would help me increase in strength and weight?

Specifically, a workout program that gears towards 3 days a week.

I gained 20lbs from 105 to 125 in a couple months by mostly doing squats, bench press, deadlifts, pull ups.

idk about programs, others can help with that because i just do my own thing

but as for weight gain, i found what helped me was drinking my calories in addition to my normal diet. try making this shake after your workout:

- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 cup oats
- 1 tablespoon peanut butter
- 1 scoop of chocolate flavored whey protein
- 1 whole banana

drink the whole thing, it tastes really good

Gym is important but your diet is most important

Start eating "good" fats and protein to build up clean mass to then work out and turn into muscle

You need to be eating something at least ever 3 hours

I had to eat about 3800-4600 calories every day for 3 months to gain 15 lbs

Of which 5 are gone in the months since I've returned to my normal caloric intake

Being underweight sucks

Thank you! In terms of warm up sets, how many would you recommend?

Better to start off too light than too heavy. Start with lighter amounts that you know you can do, and try for 3-4 sets of 10 reps with the exercises you are going. If you find you are not struggling to finish, add another 5 pounds to those exercises the next time you lift. Honestly, its better to start way too light and just increase as you go along than strain yourself early and injure yourself for a week or two.

There are lots of programs, SS is popular.I did the Fierce 5, though my progress mellowed out into the intermediate version. Do some research and see what sounds most appealing to you.
