Yeah, I noticed that this year at various places this year as far back as September. It's almost like they're skipping Halloween and it's weird.

Just seems dumb they're rushing things to me. Do they really make any money putting things out this early?

Similarly I hate the trend of the past decade to make "Black Friday" earlier and earlier. I'm not standing in line on Thanksgiving Day for some stupid deals.

And for those asking, yes putting this stuff out early can get shoppers in a different mind set of holiday spending vs waiting until Novemeber-ish. The earlier they start the more they tend to spend overall.

Generally in retail Halloween stuff starts coming the end of August/beginning of September and Christmas stuff will start arriving as early as mid September

At my local Target the Christmas decorations are only taking up a single aisle, but they're there

There's loads of Halloween shelves though

I work at Walmart, and it depends on what the merchandise is. Like, Halloween, it's all costumes, makeup, and decorations, which are (usually) inside in the Seasonal section.

But Christmas stuff, like trees and outdoor decorations, are usually in the Garden Center because they take up more room and it's just easier to put them out there.
