Yuppies are the types who came from another state, to NY, at some point.
Settled in, now act as if they were born and bred from the area and cry about gentrification and sympathise with the booting of lower income families after they brought the cost of living through the roof. I have a child hood friend who does this. Born and raised in a middle class suburb. Moved to brooklyn/queens border and is now complaining about white yuppies ruining the area.
