I'm guessing the Stranger is going to turn out to be Loki seeing as how he mentioned his brother.

I wasn't a big fan of the previous GoW games but I'm definitely enjoying this so far. Plus the game looks incredible. Wish I had a 4k TV to see just how much better it would be in 4k.

That first stranger fight was the low point of he game for me. Hated how scripted everything was. Thankfully the game opened up after that

Finally finished the gmgow playthrough a few days ago. Despite being fully dressed and enchanted in maxed red gear, it was still a pain !
But now I finally to the 3 special shield skins and Atreus final costume ! :D

God damn this game. I thought it was maybe 330am and figured I should head to bed. It's 530am...

I haven't gamed like this in years. How far am I roughly? I just got Tyr's black ruin. I'm assuming I'm close to the end but I heard about Valkyrie armor but haven't seen it yet and I'm only level 3 with the Blades of Chaos. I'm at the summit now, should I head back and do other quests or just keep going?

Only level 3? I feel you should be a bit higher at the point you're at. Try doing some quests and get better armor to raise your level.

But as for your progress...I'd say you're close...like around 80% of the game. Also the Valkyrie armor is something you get for fighting Valkyries. They're behind those doors you open with the chisel.

My axe is level 5 and I'm level 4 overall I believe. I only recently got the other weapon. Where do I find more chaos embers or whatever they are to continue leveling it up outside of the main quest?

I'll definitely head back then.

I know that Niflheim and Muspelheim are optional realms that are mainly used for material grinding, so you could try for Chaos Flames there.

Solid 25+ hours for a normal playthrough. Mine was around 30 and I got like 65-70% of the trophies.

Today has mostly been spent doing side quests and fighting Valkyries. I stopped the main quest after escaping Helheim with the giant airship thing.

I've spent the last 90+ minutes doing the Muspelheim arena challenges so I can fight the Valkyrie there (only that one and the Niflheim one left but I still need one more codec to go there).

This is easily the best game I've played in a couple years. It will likely get overshadowed by RDR2 and BFV for me but it's definitely the most enjoyable gaming experience I've had in a really long time.

By far the best game in the series. I tried all the previous ones and thought they were pretty meh. It could have used some more boss fights and actually getting to see Thor and/or Odin would have been nice but they're probably saving that for a sequel.

Best game I have played in years.
