Welcome to the world. I was diagnosed in my teens around 20 years go. I work.

Asshole, bootstrap theory time. Find a job that can work for you. Something low stress, like overnight shelf stocking, or overnight security guard. Don't be drain waste.

Stfu.

He's completely correct. Your "disabilities" aren't real disabilities.

BPD is extremely real and is life-ruining for the person afflicted and everyone who knows them

Unfortunately, explosive aggression is not BPD. I'd say he most likely has Intermittent Explosive Disorder.

And you would be wrong. You're not even a psych doctor. Leave the diagnosing to the professionals.

I am a professional, thanks. And I can legally diagnose mental illness.

So do it with someone you know. I already have my diagnosis from a professional. I didn't go on WebMD and say "yep, that's it".

I already mentioned I would be paying for stuff like electric and such. Also, what she is and isn't ok with is our business. If she's fine with it, why do others care so much? Not you, just the trolls.

why does mariolover2 think that way, _goggalor_ cant help the fact that his condition prevents him from working, though able bodied people need to work in order to gain benefits if they're at that certain poverty level.

there's only so much one can do with lack of work experience, and to have work experience gotta have money for college.
also to add you're just as bad as darkprince for saying "to get rid of the cats" i love em almost as much as dogs.

Get a job

I'm trying, but I haven't had one in 8 years so it's hard. Plus I'm actually qualified for SSI, I'm not just using it to be lazy. I actually have legitimately disabling conditions.

Volunteer.

Yes, the idea of working for free sucks but any resume that makes it to an employer with "I ain't done shit for the last 8 years" is getting immediately thrown in the trash.

Volunteering, however, you likely won't be turned down.

Then when you go to an employer, you can be like "I volunteered for 1 or 2 years at this place while living on my GF's income." and they won't immediately throw it in the trash which means you now have a chance where as you had no chance before.

He could even consider his payment to be what he's already collecting from tax payers. In that way, it's not working for free.

Nah. I dont owe anyone anything. But volunteering to help on applications isn't a bad idea.

You should be a bit appreciative that you get the benefits that you do. Volunteering could be your way of giving back. And remember the common tax payer that pays out of their earned check. You wouldn't be getting your check without them.

There're so many people that abuse disability, and I really don't like paying for the benifits of the ones who do abuse, but I have to anyway. Don't be one of those people.

With a lot of volunteer work, you get to choose when you do it, so if it's a bad day, you can probably just set it out without repercussions.

If you live in a big city, the options for volunteering are plentiful. Soup kitchen, homeless shelter, animal shelters. There are so many things you could do, and all of them better than the "I don't owe anyone shit. Thanks for the cash, suckers. Now imma go hit the gym" attitude.

You gotta understand that when people say get over it and get a job, it's probably because they've been burned too many times. They've seen too many people with anxiety, depression, bipolar, etc, that in reality could work. But they don't because they are already collecting a check, so why would they?

I've known people in my personal life who do the same shit that everyone else does. They go out to eat at fancy resturants, they go to crowded movie theaters, they hang out with friends. All the shit that an actual disabled person probably wouldn't be doing, but because of their *insert mental problem here* working is the one thing they refuse. It's so transparent. They've gotten comfortable with not working, and would rather just collect a free check, while still being active. Hell... sign me the fuck up.

Goggalor I know you from the MA board, I'm also on disability. Don't let people make you think that just because you have emotional problems and so do those around you but you're actually dealing with them you are not working. I earn my money every month. Everytime I take a pill, get a prescription filled, go to group therapy, end up in the hospital or jail, go to my drs visits, go see my therapist and everything else I do cuz at the end of the day I end up with no money and I give the money right back to the people who pay for the meager amount of money I get a month.

We're human beings and often times we end up friendless and in jail with no one visiting us, all while these guys continue to play the sick game that gets us sick to begin with. A lot of people should be ashamed of themselves in this thread, especially the guy who has a diagnosis and says you can still work while disabled because he was able to find something by sheer luck that worked for him as if the rest of us are happy just existing and receiving a small amount of money that's impossible to live off. Get a clue dude, I, and I speak on behalf of most disabled people, wish I could work a regular job like i used to back in high school and laugh at how crazy everything is. I've had lots of jobs, every time I get on a frequency people can vibe with and my antennas work properly it's just a matter of time til I end up back in the hospital or worse, jail.

Don't get mad, I'm not saying this to upset you.
Tbh, I make more in a week take home than you do on disability in a month. That doesn't make me better than you.
If you can bring more home part time, which shouldn't be hard, I'd think it would help your own sense of self worth.
The people saying she'll tire of you do have a point. Eventually an argument will happen in which she feels you're holding her back. It won't be right away, but it's likely to happen.
If you try, and actually get some sort of job, it will show her you're trying despite your reservations and troubles. If you can show you're willing to try and better yourself, you might just surprise yourself as well

I wasn't talking about you specifically. I was referring about people who do abuse, and how people can jump to the conclusion that others abuse based on their passed experience with people who abuse the system. If you don't abuse, then my words obviously don't apply to you.

If you're comment was based off of my quoted segment, then maybe I should explain. The impression I got from your "I don't owe anyone anything" comment was that you don't appreciate the benefits, and that you don't care where they are coming from. That you'll just squander them and use them Willy nilly. If that's NOT you, then I apologise.

And your last commint. No, you wouldn't do a goddamned thing to me in person, unless you want a lawsuit.

What was said about volunteering still stands. That could be excellent for you.

Not only would you be helping others, but you'd be helping yourself too. Bring it up with with your therapist. The many counselors and therapists that I've had throughout my life ALWAYS had lots of info on volunteer work.

It was anything but sheer luck.

I started therapy when I was 17, but never stuck with it. I've been on more meds than I can count, and went undiagnosed for years. It wasn't until I was in my mid 20s that I finally had a name for what I was dealing with. Schizoeffective disorder, along with genalized anxiety, OCD tendencies and depression.

Weird fuckin shit happened to me. You ever had auditory hallucinations? I have. Hearing shit that's not there? Someone talking about you, but you can't quite make it out, but you just know what they are saying is bad. Hint: no one is actually saying anything, at all.

I've had probably 16 or 17 different jobs, all of which I quit after a few months. I went about 2 years once without working, and I went to therapy during this time, but nothing got better.

I finally changed up my tactic, and started to be selective in my job search. Before, i would go for any job that had NOW HIRING posted on the window. Most of the time, this was a fast food restaurant or a factory, which are extemely hight stress jobs. I decided to narrow my search and look for low stress jobs. I started with overnight stalking at kroger, then I heard of an opening for an overnight security job at my mother in laws work facility. I took it, and I've been there for 3 years. Every job before then? Three to six months before I'd crack.

Trial and error, my friends. Not just luck.

I mean, if you physically attack someone (which, come on, that's what he was probably meaning), an assault charge would be the least you could expect.

I actually got into trouble with the police due to my condition before I was diagnosed. I was 17 and had my first break down. Did something im not proud of, and there were repercussions.

So do it with someone you know. I already have my diagnosis from a professional. I didn't go on WebMD and say "yep, that's it".

Intermittent explosive disorder (sometimes abbreviated as IED) is a behavioral disorder characterized by explosive outbursts of anger and violence, often to the point of rage, that are disproportionate to the situation at hand.

I dunno bro, given what we know from how you act on here, Coffeebeanz professional opinion seems pretty accurate. Youve blown up over the smallest slights countless times to the point of outright threatening to assault other users on here. Youve even detailed your dark little fantasies of how you would maim these people, with graphic descriptions of how you would break every bone in their limbs one by one, beat them within an inch of their life, and so forth - all over a fucking GameFAQs argument.

On that note, youre really not helping your case against having IED when you continue to make more dumbass threatening comments several posts later in this very topic (#118):
