There's a lot of evidence to suggest that Ford was indeed sexually assaulted as a teenager, some evidence she was saying it was Kavanaugh before this summer, and he is as close to 100% proven to be willing to lie under oath about his drinking and sex life as can be. It's likelier than not that he did it. And it's pretty obvious why someone who hadn't ever talked about it publicly before would bring it up now

I don't know if he's guilty or not. But there's enough potential evidence to at least warrant a full investigation into the allegations before confirming the guy. If the investigation is comprehensive enough and shows that there's not enough evidence for a trial, then that's it. It's over.

I'd like to gather more information, but the GOP had to be dragged kicking and screaming into allowing an FBI investigation, which the President is now obstructing by refusing to allow key witnesses to be interviewed.

Ford says she did not talk about the allegations with anyone until 2012, during a couples therapy session with her husband. She provided the Post with notes from therapy sessions in 2012 and 2013 when she described a sexual assault that she experienced while she was in high school.

In these notes Kavanaugh is not named, but Ford describes an attack by students from an elite boys school. These students are now highly respected and high-ranking members of society in Washington, she said.

Ford also took a polygraph test, which indicated the veracity of her claims. (Its worth noting that the reliability of polygraph tests has been heavily scrutinized in recent years.)

Fords husband confirms, too, that she mentioned the attack in their 2012 therapy sessions. He said he recalled her mentioning Kavanaugh by last name.

Friends of Fords have said shes spoken about the attack and note that theyve witnessed the lasting impact its had on her life. Jim Gensheimer told the Los Angeles Times that Ford discussed her struggle to come forward with him in early July and added that Ford was averse to purchasing a master bedroom that does not have a second exit. Obviously, something happened that traumatized her so much that shes afraid of being trapped, Gensheimer said.

On Wednesday, Ford entered four sworn statements into the record from her husband and three close friends, which show that shes been telling the same story for years.

Lying about his father (via omission), lying through his teeth about being a wholesome Christian boy who was celibate till marriage, dodging questions like Neo dodging bullets albeit with no grace whatsoever, having an intern edit the page for Devil's Triangle on Wikipedia, and being caught like a deer in headlights when asked to let an official know right next to him to call for an FBI investigation to clear his name. There's no way someone can witness all this and can say "this man clearly does not have skeletons bulging out of his closet". You have nothing to hide if you're innocent. When Durbin confronted him and we saw his reaction, no further words needed to be said.

"Guilty" isn't the term to use here because legally he isn't guilty and will never be found guilty since he's in a high position.

But I do think he did it. I've heard accounts from other rape / assault victims and they sound very much inline with what Dr. Ford was saying, much like what members of Congress who were prosecuting attorneys were also saying when she recounted the events. The Republicans have no way of making this look better, and Kavanaugh 's best choice, which he's stupidly already thrown to the wind, is to plead the 5th.
