Was based on the real life of a former slave turned law enforcement officer in Oklahoma the lawless Wild West named Bass Reeves who killed 14 outlaws and arrested 3,000 of the baddest bad guys in the West so why are we not told about people like this guy.

Because they are too cool for people to handle and are overshadowed by dudes like Wild Bill Hickok.

I get that but I was asking how come we are never told the true history of African-Americans like this guy Reeves or Lewis Latimer an African-American inventor and draftsman who drafted the necessary drawings required to receive a patent for Alexander Graham Bell's telephone. Now why would Bell need someone to do his patent drawings if he invented the telephone.
