Its been years since I bought a brand new game. I always go used.

If it's a physical copy I'll almost always look for a used version

If it's digital I'll more often than not wait for a sale

Spider-Man was the first time in years that I bought a physical game for full price at launch

Only one I bought at that price in the past.. forgot how many years.. was Monster Hunter World on PC last month. Played around 40 hours so far and I'm probably very far from finishing it since I like the exploration and farming. Totally worth the price.

Maybe once or twice a year though I generally just wait until it goes on sale and usually the stuff is 20% off at launch anyway

I used to do it all the time but have slowed way down the past 3 years, I think Persona 5 I was the last one I bought full price. I'm going to wait a few weeks to a month to see how Black Ops 4 is received by gamers, if it checks out I will pay full price for that

I bought Spiderman but before that it was like 10 years.

Rarely. Mario Odyssey when I bought a Switch was the last one. BotW on the Wii U before that. Besides Nintendo not discounting their games any, I can't remember the last time I bought a game at $60 on any other console.

Haven't in forever. DQ11 is the first game in years that I've bought at launch but I got it for like 20% off.

i was so hopped up on spider-man and refused to buy it full price that i took advantage of a gamestop "trade 2 old for 1 new" offer.

first game was god of war(which i bought used and got tired of before i even finished) and then i dug around for a discounted game and ended up buying the crew 2 as new and traded both in for spidey.

stupid gamestop people still ended up tearing off the wrap(probably company policy) when they could have just sold it as new but i'm sure they'll still put it back up for more than i paid xd.

I feel like Ive bought too many this year. BotW, cuz Nintendo games never go on sale (ironically it did like a week later), God of War, Spider-Man.

I want DQ XI and Im sure Ill want RDR2 lol, plus there are other games dropping soon.

Its nice to get a good deal but its also fun to buy full price sometimes. Im glad I had Zelda when I did rather than waiting a week to save $15 (disclaimer: terrible with money).

Perhaps too often?

I rarely seek out sales. I'll make a priority of games that are cheaper out of the gate (your Hollow Knight, your Messenger), but typically for me, if it didn't intrigue me at $60, it probably won't intrigue me at $30.

Only if its a multiplayer game that I want to be a part of the community at jump street or a few franchises that I care about like a new FromSoft game or Persona for example.

This year, I have only bought two games at $60.

Monster hunter world and Divinity original sin 2 definitive edition. Next one will be red dead 2.

Everything else I pick up on sale.

I dont even play video games anymore man, they try way too hard now a days. Best game to come out this decade is Pokmon go that actually got gamers to go outside and interact with people.

I have yet to pay full price for a PS4 game

Rarely unless it's something I know I'm going to binge over a couple days. Otherwise, I'm generally fine waiting until it's gone down in price.

Once or twice a year a game will actually make me want it new. Besides that I wait a year or so for the complete game to come out.

almost never. minus the one exception for one game

south park the stick of truth because i wanted the pre-order bonus.
though that game is in my backlog (could count either as a speedy or boss game) since it takes 25 hours to complete.
