I loved Fate Unlimited Codes method of command lists

Everyone had the same inputs but the moves worked differently and if you had your meter charged

I've heard from Tekken players you don't actually have to remember every single move and you're better off just focusing on a few attacks and combos.

This. If you play online, you'll also notice that the people you face will always spam the same combos.

Agreed, it was quite a turnoff when I tried to play. I'm sure the part about only needing to know a few good combos and moves is right but it's annoying for a beginner.

Eddie is the greatest character in fighting game history for just mashing buttons but looking like you know what you're doing.

He does all sorts of crazy shit and evades attacks and stuff if you just mash random combinations.

He's the king of "I meant to do that!" noob players

They don't really have like 100 "moves" because the move list basically puts any kind of basic attack as a move.

It's like booting up a copy of Street Fighter 2 and Ryu's move list looks something like this.

1. Jab
2. Medium Punch
3. Fierce
4. Kick
5. Medium Kick
6. Roundhouse
7. Crouching Jab (2 + Jab)
8. Crouching Medium (2 + Medium Punch)
9. Uppercut (2 + Fierce)
...
78. Combo 2 (some string of punches and kicks)
...
etc.
