Yeah, yeah. I know, you'd never be in a rapey accusation situation cause you aren't a scumlord, but... let's just pretend that people lie, or whatever, just for a moment and that you are in this situation.

Let's say you're innocent. You're this Kava guy, and accused of sexual assault. What would you do? Would you step down? Would you come up with some sort of step-down-speech? Something to the effect of "Though I am not guilty of these nasty things. I feel that out of respect for the people, I will take step back and let someone else take the reins." or some s*** like that? Or... would you go down fighting? Would a sense of injustice toward you overtake you're being, and you fight tooth and nail?

On the flipside of that, let's say that you're guilty. You done did it. You're the scummiest of scummies at the bottom of the scum. I'm not sure on what all he's been accused of, other than attemtping to remove clothing at a party in highschool, but that's you, you did the thing. So, now what? Do you straight up admit to the accusations? Hand raised up, pointing at yourself saying "Yep, I did it. It was me.". Do you step down, but lie saying something similar to if you were innocent? Or, do you double scum? You lie and don't step down?

I'd submit to every possible type of investing, take a lie detector, absolutely anything that would make me more likely to be believed. I'd want my friends to testify under oath too, especially the one who was alleged to be in the room. Especially if my defense is that I wasn't even there and so it literally couldn't have been me, that would be found out and my accusers and the people who helped them would be destroyed by the public. I'd be honest about my actual flaws that I actually have if I had a drinking problem or a being an asshole problem.

The Kav didn't do any of these things and it makes him suspicious AF.

Personally, If I'm innocent, I think I'd be split. On one hand, I'd be ultra pissed that I was being accused of something that I didn't do, so I'd want to fight it. On the other, I'm not sure if I'd want to go through the trouble, and might just step down to avoid family torment.

If I'm guilty, I'd definitely step down. Though, I'm not sure if I'd admit to the accusations. I know how people are, and even if something happened 30 or 40 years ago when I was in highschool, they'd probably hold it against me now, even though I could be a totally different person as time passed.

Regardless of me being in his particular shoes or not, if I was ever accused of sexual assault and knew myself innocent, I'd cooperate fully with any requests, any investigation.

That would be a good idea. But let's say you do that? What could they find to prove your innocents? And what if the accusers continue to accuse... forever?

I wonder if you'd just be permantely guilty in some peoples eyes?

His defense is that he wasn't there. If he can prove he was somewhere else, that's pretty simple, open and shut.

People have answered about being innocent, but... what if you're guilty, and you know it? Every word they said about you is true?

What do you do then?

I'd step down for sure, but I'm not certain if I would admit to the accusations. I mean, I did some pretty bad shit when I was in my high school years (like, 20 years ago or so) that I wouldn't want anyone to know. I haven't done anything even remotely similar since, so I'm inclined to believe it was just teenage stupidness. Even if that's the case, and was just me being a dumb kid, I'm pretty sure people would still hold it against me years later.

I wouldn't have been accused in the first place. I hope that stuff like this makes men very afraid when talking to women from now on. You should be scared that when she talks about you she'll be believed. You should feel like you have to be extremely careful at all times.

I think it was mostly political pageantry.
I think even considering the above, even if the Dems held the accusations till the last minute, it's still serious enough to warrant an investigation and their playing politics do not negate her victimization. ie whether or not you think it's scummy of the Dems, should have worked and it's scummier of the GOP.
I think the GOP could find someone that isn't an accused rapist.
I think he probably did it.
I think this will embolden both sides for the midterms.
Anyone that thinks strengthening the "bluewave", this is somehow a win for Dems, is a fucking idiot, this man will sit on the court for 2-3 decades.
I think he's a shallow choice so that Trump can end the Mueller investigation and not have to worry about SCOTUS.
I think this further hurts the credibility of the Supreme court, divides America further, helps cement the fact that it's no longer just politics, it's a cold war between the parties and things are not going to get better.

These are basically the sum of my thoughts on the whole ordeal.
