First thought is, this show is much better than my elitist weeb friends led me to believe. Thought it was just going to be cliche after cliche and yes there was some cliche stuff in there but that's not always bad. Not everything has to be massively different and original. You can do cliche stuff as long as it has a reason and is executed well it's still going to be good.

Someone talked about them doing TWO tournament arcs and the provisional exam was kind of like a tournament but it's well explained. There's a very good reason that the test was so difficult as to weed it down to 100 heroes, etc.

What else? The characters I found surprisingly endearing despite a lack of development from both of them. I put up with Bakugo's basically stagnation for most of the series but finally in this last episode the patience paid off. There was also a part during the sports festival where they're all harassing him about not going easy on Uraraka because she was a frail girl and he's like "What part about her was frail?" which was good.

Also he called himself King Explosion Murder which I thought was hilarious.

I think the Muscle vs Deku fight was the only one I found particularly offensive. Every other fight has been enjoyable and unique and also animated exceptionally well. The music's been good. They've done pretty well for overloading us on characters to give most of them some decent characterization and have enough interactions with the mains so we know who they are and what they're about.

Oh yeah I'm supposed to do a ranking.

I don't have them in mind right now but I'll do them later. Tomura Shigaraki is high up tho

that would've spiced it up and introduced the politics for heroes doing something like that

plus, him going "ONE MILLION" and the guy was still alive was disappointing

He becomes much more intimidating and focused later on. But yea, hes more of a cartoony super villain that nobody takes super seriously. I think this is addressed when that Ninja Turtle fucker shows up and everybody wants to follow him instead

I disagree. I haven't read the manga yet but I'm excited to learn about his past and the trauma he experienced/had exploited by All For One.

His design is also cool, so it his quirk. And his voice actor is the same as my favorite character from Shiki, so that helps.

Yes, this. His tantrums about Stain were hilarious and also a good thing for him to DEVELOP from, which he has done.

and he has zero competence. that anybody follows him makes noooooo sense

capitalizing on Stain's influence doesn't make sense either. he's recruited a bunch of dudes based on Stain's ideals but he is VERY obvious about the fact that he thinks that Stain was stupid as hell

I was disappointed that going ONE MILLION didn't fucking destroy Deku

like if 100% ravages his body so badly as we've seen, his arm literally shouldn't exist anymore from one million percent

The author kind of explained it, the One Million percent thing wasn't actually him going one million, it was more Deku just kind of psyching himself up by saying the words. Which some people don't like but eh, people do do that from time to time with telling themselves something for motivation.

The 1 Million didnt actually mean 1 Million. It was supposed to represent Deki hyping himself up to throw as strong a punch as he could. It was poorly conveyed though, author had to publicly set the record straight

Shows tends to be popular for a reason even if some people may not like it.
