MGSV was a good game, just incomplete.

...and full of repetitive side content.

But you could accomplish it in non-repetitive ways >_>

that's true.

I'm not really knocking the game for that, since it's the case with a lot of open-world titles, but I just eventually stopped doing the side stuff, and I enjoyed MGSV a lot more

I mean MGSV is a horrid awful Metal Gear Solid game because it lacks story, characters, an ending and the charm the series is famous for. It's also a fucking phenomenal video game that plays like a dream.

BvS is a dumpster fire of a Batman or Superman movie betraying both characters while adding nothing good as a trade off. It's also a god awful movie. There are pretty much zero redeeming things about it unless that Batman fight scene does it for you, but even that lacks any soul and ruins the character.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is trash.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is also an outstanding video game.

Metal Gear Solid V had the weakest Metal Gear story, but it was a fun enough game with a lot of content and gameplay that held up for a decent amount of time. You're spending a lot of time on a story that sucks, but most of that time is used to snipe enemies with non-lethal rounds and kidnap them to join your private army, or developing new and heavier duty weaponry. The magic wears off, but for the most part it's worth the price of admission for gameplay alone.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is just a bad story. You're sitting in the same seat for two and a half hours expecting this grand clash of ideals, this idealogical battle that all the trailers built up, and instead you watch a slow, plodding "Superman is bad! Batman is bad in ways but he feels justified!" plot that spends a lot of time on fluff scenes, with the fight being machinated in the least entertaining way possible, the fight itself standing for nothing and the plot being crammed full of villains and heroes that either spend the movie not being heroic or being heroic only for people to talk shit on them. It's a drab, joyless movie that stands for nothing. MGSV is bad in the story department, but it's saved by its entertaining gameplay - BvS doesn't have the same luxury.

There's also the length of time between the products to consider. The first mainline Metal Gear game came out in 1987, and V was the eighth mainline instalment in the series directed by Hideo Kojima, counting GZ and TPP as one game, and excluding Portable Ops. With Phantom Pain coming out in 2015, the series spans 28 years of gaming history, with an additional 7 spinoffs, sidegames and remakes coming out between the first Metal Gear game and Phantom Pain. That's a lot of games, with a lot of clout behind Kojima and a lot of good titles under his belt. It took the series 28 years to properly tank, even with its later games not quite matching up to the earlier titles.

Man of Steel came out in 2013. It was competent, but the reviews were mixed. BvS came out in 2016, and it tanked.

Metal Gear crammed out 15 decent games in 28 years before shit went south.

Zack Snyder and Warner Bros crammed out 2 mediocre movies in 3 years, with the bottom falling out of that second movie in a big way.

That alone makes MGSV a better product in my eyes, being the inevitable downfall of a popular video game series that had been running for nearly three decades. Meanwhile, BvS was a half-a-billion dollar critical disaster that dragged a cinematic franchise down the shitter on its second instalment
