both games are horribly flawed but i can at least have fun with MHGU, which is not something that can be said about world

GU is better in almost every meaningful way. World's advantages, besides graphics if you care about that kind of thing, are basically all in terms of making things more convenient. Which is nice for sure, but it doesn't make that big of a difference. The bulk of the game is worse than GU. Way fewer monsters, much weaker soundtrack, fewer maps (and one of them is ass anyway), inferior gameplay overall due to monsters being slower and more predictable (and also falling down way more often), making it way too easy to just mash your way through to the handful of endgame monsters that actually put up a fight. I like World, but it's basically just a lesser MH with a nice coat of paint.
