I feel like this movie got the blunt of the hate from The Last Jedi, because I actually thought it was thoroughly entertaining, ignoring that nobody really asked for it.
I quickly got over the fact that the lead wasn't THE Han Solo, but he was likable enough and charismatic enough in the role for me to get behind him. Donald Glover really did channel his inner Billy Dee Williams because at times he looked, sounded and acted just like him. Seeing Darth Maul again was also awesome. I also liked it.
I never really payed attention in the earlier movies, but this means that Han is 20+ years older than Luke/Leia, right? --- b-bb-box ... Copied to Clipboard!

Also, I gotta say I liked that it was basically a western movie mixed with a heist movie with some Star Wars thrown in there.

It was far better than TLJ Oh its so much better. 1. Solo had a much more competent script, dialogue and better musical score. 2. Better acting & characters. Han Solo guy, Emilia Clarke, Woody Harrelson, & Donald Glover acted their roles far more better than Andy Serkis, Ben Driver, Mark Hamill, Daisy Ridley, & Laura Dern. 3. Lighting for Solos scenes > lighting for The Last Jedi scenes 4. Darth Maul > Captain Phasma, General Hux, Benecio Del Toro. Darth Maul is so awesome and badass and his lightsaber is like so cool. Such a great move by Disney to bring back such an important and iconic character. 5. Social Justice Droid > Rose Tico.
