Game made me go to a painting on the other side if town to see a story clip, sent back to the start if town for one conversation, back to the painting to enter it, back to the start of town for a single conversation and now its back to the paining. Such bull shit

Dragon quest games tend to be full of mindless padding in that way since they often aren't padded the traditional old school JRPG way, aka grinding.

I don't mind JRPG padding if I enjoy the whole setting/environment/plot. DQ games always stick to such a generic medieval fantasy setting I have a hard time ever bothering with them after already trying 3 and 8.

obnoxious padding so that the back of the box can include how it's a "60+ hour adventure!"

like bitch i don't give a shit about how long your game is when you're deliberately and shamelessly wasting my time for 1/5th of it

tales of the abyss is one of my favorite JRPG's and yet it's full of this in the second half and it's embarrassing

Thankfully vesperia was light on grinding unless you wanted the ultimate weapons
