Its short and there is little replay value.. but Im okay with that because of how much fun I had while doing it. It reminds me of bioshock. And Id much rather live with one single ending that felt good than two that felt stupid like in bioshock.

Cant fucking wait for some dlc or an announcement of WE KNEW YOU GUYS WERE GOING TO LOVE THIS HERE IS CHAPTER TWO

I've been enjoying it so far, but I wouldn't even call it the best game of 2018...
Forcing the player to change characters and play boring stealth sections sucks.
I dont care about MJ or Miles, just let me play as Spider-man.

With that said, I'm only 60% through the game so my opinion could change by the end.

It's the most fun I had since... prolly mass effect 3... wow.

If it's not too late, here's a tip. Save all of your challenge tokens for Spider Suits. Don't spend any on gadget upgrades if you can help it. Then you won't have to worry about 100%ing all those challenges. Once you get the trophy for the Spider Suits the rest of the trophies are relatively easy.

You should be able to fully upgrade most gadgets and get all the costumes without getting the top score on the challenges, btw

The drone challenges can be a particular pain in the ass so I'd focus on the combat and stealth challenges for the trophies.

Great advice, thanks. Although I screwed up since I spent a bunch on gadgets beforehand haha. It's pretty much just the drone challenges that make me feel totally hopeless. Stealth and bomb aren't too bad and combat is pretty tricky for me - but at least my mistake of upgrading gadgets makes them a bit more manageable!

It's not a difficult platinum to get at all, but if you're not aware of the possible shortage of challenge tokens, getting enough of them to unlock the suits and subsequent trophy can be a real chore.

BTW I upgraded a bunch of gadgets ahead of time before I realized this, and I was still able to get all the suits by ignoring the drone challenges for the most part. Just focus on the challenges that seem "doable" to you.

The story is about average length for this type of game, but there are a lot of side-quests and stuff to do add replay value. Plus they're supposedly planning to do a New Game Plus mode.

Green Goblin and Venom are strongly hinted at for a sequel given the whole Harry situation and seeing Green Goblins mask and smoke bombs. Mysterio seems likely as a side boss like Tombstone and Taskmaster was in this game.

I know they are, but based on what happened in this game I think they spread it out. I also think mysterio will be a boss of his own, not a side boss like taskmaster and tombstone. I also expect his level to be the best one in the game. Like scarecrow in Arkham asylum.

I could see chameleon as the side boss though.

I enjoyed this game had elements of that with Doc Oc and Scorpion. I'd like to see more of that as that certainly was a highlight for the Arkham series for me.

The Doc oc Parts felt like the little boy in mass effect 3 but a billion times better because they made sense.

That one mission with the scorpion was cool though. Would expect to see that but a million times cooler with mysterio.

Your definition of great clearly isn't mine. Collectables and other busy work that you get in many open world games can be found here. Nothing stands out and I won't give it a free pass just because it's Spider-Man. As I said before I hope the sequel has a villain attached to each bit of side content that ends in a boss fight. I enjoyed Taskmaster and Tombstone but that's it. The rest was just busy work that achieved nothing but a suit unlock.

I liked all the side-content other than one or two of the research missions. The challenges were fun and many were actually a good challenge to get Gold. The civilian side missions were mostly pretty interesting. Especially the Screwball one and the ESU ones. And I really liked that all the backpacks had something that fleshed-out the history in the game, with both references to villains he's encountered and stuff involving MJ and Aunt May.

Yeah, but why would this game blow its load and give you more than that? It gave you an intro to most of its rogues, a very in depth and interesting version of Peter and fleshed out his supporting cast. What else could you even ask for at this point?
It had a story to tell and it told it well. all games dont have to be 50+ hours long.

And when you look at all the non story elements with a huge generic scope like that(everyother game has collectables, etc.) Of course nothing will stand out.

What I saw is that they put a lot of effort in explaining why Peter cared so much to even do the side stuff. Tossing villians on to everything will cheapen the experience.
Oh, there's pollution, well it was pollution man doing it for no reason! How is that more fun?
