I think 2 years between films is just right. It's usually a bit longer, though, and between QoS and Skyfall, I think it was 4 years. Does anyone else get annoyed at this? Of course, you can't say they're whoring the franchise, with a new installment every year or anything.

They'd cease being a special event if they were every two years.

i miss slick dialogue-driven spy movies instead of the big budget boom boom stuff which is probably why they take so long to make.

not looking for slow-as-molasses confusing movies like tinker tailor soldier spy either.

If they use the extra time to make sure the film is great then I don't mind too big of a gap. The problem now isn't the time gap, but the producers making bad decisions and hiring crap writers. I'd say give Bond a rest for a bit so they can rethink the whole thing cause this reboot series ain't cutting it even if a couple of the movies are good.

Also, the direction has gone horribly wrong. Up until the end of the Brosnan era, the Bond films were funny and a little OTT, but since CR, things have been So serious and down to earth. If I wanted something really serious, that's what I'd watch. The Bond films were never this heavy (or long, like Spectre). Even the most serious Dalton films had their fun bits.

I mean, they used to be even more frequent than that. The first 8 Bond films came out between 1962 and 1971

I still think that the Moore and Brosnan eras were the best.

Didn't Brosnan only have like 2 good movies?

Although even the worst ones he was in, he definitely was the best actor out of the rest of the cast.

I thought they were generally excellent, with the exception of TWINE.

TWINE was really weird. The whole thing was kinda disjointed, set in a part of the world nobody knows anything about, the action scenes were too much, the girls was boring, the villain wasn't used enough, and Bond was strangely aggressive and miserable. I don't know what happened.

I think TND is probably my favourite Bond film of all time.

They need to bring the camp back to Bond. Even if Spectre had a lot of silliness in it Craig is such a joyless Bond. I cant stand him outside of Casino Royale. >_>

I haven't even bothered watching the rest of the Craig films because Casino Royale was so bad. They turned Bond into Bourne.

die another day was pretty stupid.

they already had a pretty menacing asian villain and had to ham it up by white-washing another asian into a white main villain instead.

wonder how that would work in today's sjw climate xd

Going back, I sort of enjoy how DAD just embraces the insanity. I dont know if I would call it good but its stupidly fun to watch for me.

And a North Korean spy using surgery to turn into the son of Professor McGonagal just sort of cements that delicious weirdness.
