I notice Mexico too. Do these religious nuts know how their country became religious? If they do and voluntarily still follow those religions then that's just proof it is a super effective mind control method.

Evangelism that wasn't curbed like in other Asian countries. IIRC, Korea used Christianity in its centralization efforts during modernization. Japan, on the other hand, outright outlawed it at one point, despite it's embracing of Western values to modernize, and China resisted Western influence until it was forced on them (and even then, it was basically quarantined to a few key cities on the coast).

Also, IIRC, the Phillipines was colonized, which generally employed a rather vicious firebrand evangelism as part of its subjugation effort.
