But it's unlikely that we'll start to see real changes that soon. NPR was also mentioning that Trump's tax breaks may mean that companies can afford to eat some of the costs themselves.

Plus the whole point of these specials is the outrageous sales on doorbusters so companies who try to scale back would just lose out and I would imagine most retailers would be too afraid to cut back greatly for fear of losing to competitors.

Nah. What might make them mediocre is the absence of Toys R Us. OTOH, those who are primarily after deals on toys will now be mobbing Target and Walmart even more.

Nah. China doesn't mean anything for BF. Stores just choose things to get people in the door. I expect deals on all the recent games.
