We have doors like that at work. I use them to open doors when my hands are full.

So all the lazy people don't have to push the door open.

I hate those doors, because the mechanism usually makes the door harder to open open for people who don't use the button.

This is absolutely true, but then i wouldn't use the stairs if i was carrying heavy awkward stuff like that. I would use the elevator.
