Casualty has always meant death or injury. Just because the general public automatically thinks death doesn't make it so.

The shooter probably has a cocktail of mental illnesses much her male shooter counterparts (a lot of the more debilitating mental illnesses are starting to crop up in women a lot more). We need better mental health services in America.

this. i've said it before. its not so much a gun problem as it is a mental illness problem. take the guns away and they'd find another way to do the same if not comparable amount of harm. don't put a band-aid on the problem find the source.

I love this counter argument. Name one other readily accessible way to easily kill a lot of people in a matter of seconds with little chance of them stopping you. How often do you hear of a mentally ill person killing 4+ other people through any other means? Because we have shootings about once a week. Sometimes several.

If it were discovered that mentally ill people were murdering crowds with mustard gas bombs made out of two ingredients you can buy at Walmart, those things would be pulled from every store shelf in the country and you'd need a work permit to buy them. But oh no, magical guns are exempt from analysis or criticism or restrictions because something something 2nd amendment tyrannical government murica

In the face of such overwhelming evidence that he was wrong and facing a moment of uncertainty in his life, he consulted his WWTD? ("What Would Trump Do?") poster and realized that he can never apologize or admit he's wrong, for anything, ever.

You're arguing that the literally dictionary definition of a word is wrong despite being presented clear proof otherwise.
But yes, you're being persecuted for telling "the truth."
Your alternative facts are quite fascinating.

I mean, rifle clubs used to be a thing in the US, and kids used to bring their guns to school (my father did). People used to drive around with gun racks on their vehicles. The percentage of the population that owns a firearm is down. The Brady Bill and Thompson machine gun ban used to not be a thing. Despite all this mass shootings are WAY up, and really did not become prevalent until the 90s.

There is also the fact that other countries that allow their citizens to have firearms don't have these problems.

I am not going to claim every or any mass shooting is a result of mental illness, because I am not an expert. I do know that suicide rates have also exploded in recent years here, so we obviously have issues on that front. But I can't help feeling that, many are going after a symptom, rather than the disease itself.
