You enable new players to the genre to actually have some fun with the game while not hindering experienced players from using more optimal tech

I agree, although I get a bit miffed when auto-combos end with supers and/or have low/high mixups.

I don't mind them in general. But I do hate them with a passion in DBFZ.

I think Persona 4 Arena did them best out of the fighters I've played that have them. They weren't the worst in terms of damage, but were easily blocked if you knew your opponent was using them, but they ALSO contained unique moves in the chain such that sometimes it was worth starting with an auto combo and then switching to a manual finisher depending on the circumstances.

My problems with DBFZ autos is that the continue on wiff and have massive forward movement on them and could be made safe afterwords with specials and assists. So the auto combos also had auto neutral.

Exactly. And they auto correct if you try to do a cross up or something

I hate how BBTag does autos because it locks away useful things that you can't use otherwise, like Kishu Enma which was Hakumen's best neutral tool

Didn't auto combos actually have reduced damage scaling in BBTag or am I thinking of another game? I thought ASW had a game recently where you did more damage doing the auto manually than if you just mashed.

Uniel's Smart Steer maybe?

All of the attacks in BBTag auto combos don't have alternative inputs to do manually
