So the main problem with a movement like this and Black Lives Matter isn't the movements themselves... but the fact that the movements lack a face? A leader per say?

When ignorant people use #blacklivesmatter without knowing the details they ruin the impact of it because there is no one to rebute it. Same for #metoo since it takes zero evidence to do this with no major party being held responsible.

Movements need a figure head or they seem to get into situations like this. Just someone to say that we don't support this particular situation or individual.

How often does that happen?

Honestly it's probably at least 50/50.

Holy shit. That's still too high. I mean, you don't have to by the guilty or innocent vertict. However, you should at least get the details of the investigation before making such a decision.

The same people who are raping and don't give a shit about others in order to have their power trip are the ones approaching it on the other side and taking advantage of accusations to ruin people. I'd say 50/50. I've heard more women tell me they've been raped than men tell me they have had false rape accusations against them (I have no reason to doubt either), but that's just me. Making the accusation is the more readily available crime of opportunity.

Because some of them seem to do it out of malicious spite and lie about it. Granted its not a new thing people do, but its a fucked up thing to do to both those falsely accused, and to real victims of sexual abuse.

Unfortunately there will always be petty douchebags who screw up things for everyone.

Considering he didn't rape anyone, how is that a problem? Don't even dare try to say a rape joke cannot be funny.

Guy sexually harassed and pressured women into situations where they were uncomfortable turning him down for sex. Maybe not rape but a tactic utilized by rapists. See also, that Always Sunny clip about implications.

If you think rape jokes are funny, I strongly advise you never interact with women ever because you're part of the problem. Hell, I'd advise you simply remove yourself from society and live as a hermit banging rocks around in a cave.

Exactly like Ansari, where a bad date is considered #metoo.

And don't forget the James Franco situation, where not getting an opportunity to star in a movie is also #metoo.

Did anything bad happen to Aziz or Franco? Aziz was news for like a day before the general consensus was that was a bad date not sexual assault and I hadnt even heard about Franco (but if something came of it then thats just my bad).

Does it matter if something bad happened or not? False accusations can ruin people's lives. There were many people on the side of the of Ansari's date initially before realizing she was full of hot air. The Duke Lacrosse team nearly had their lives ruined because of a false accusation. Look like the Mattress Girl situation where a crazy woman nearly ruined a man's life.

False accusations should not happen. Period.

Utilitarianism is crappy. It makes everything a numbers game.

"Cis people hate trans people, let's just butcher the trans. White people are the majority in America and suddenly all uncomfortable with other races so let's just kill all minorities." Sure that's it at its most extreme but it always subjects the minorities to abuses if the outcome will favor the majority.

Also, since you mentioned utilitarianism, wasn't it John Stewart Mills who introduced the premise of higher and lower pleasures into the philosophy?

No, the women felt like they couldn't turn it down. They still said yes. I refuse to side with any person who felt like they could not say no when there was no use of coercion or force. Getting it into their own head that saying no would be bad is nothing but scaring themselves. It's not even like with Weinstein where people know that saying no could lead to something bad. There's nothing like that with CK. He's a minor comedian with no power. The only thing he admitted to was that "maybe he didn't think about his position of power" or some nonsense like that used to placate people.

You are free to never find a single rape joke in the world funny. Just as long as you don't claim that they are never funny.

I mean you can't call it justice really, since it doesn't go to court. Someone getting fired over an accusation is hardly justice. I'd say that much shouldn't be legal, but then what do you do if you're a doctor or small business owner? It's tricky.

Imagine telling me what I'm saying when I'm the one saying it.

I guess also imagine believing that laughing at a joke is condoning behavior spoken of in the joke. I also enjoy the movie Blazing Saddles. I guess you would also assume that in addition to "condoning rape," I must also "condone homophobia and racism." I can't remember if there are any jokes about Jewish people in that particular Mel Brooks film, so I'll leave "and anti-semitism." off the end of that... unless you remember a scene I don't.

But yeah... back on point. Stating that laughing at a joke means condoning the subject of the joke is delusional and fringe-lunacy, so I hope you aren't being serious and literal here and I'm just not interpreting your point as you intended for it to be interpreted.
