Around there. A girl I was crushing on at the time used it, and I didn't know it was actually a thing until it later blew up and was everywhere.

Even though it's a normal every day term now, I still kind of hate it. One of those words that caught on but just sounds kind of stupid.

in korea they called them "selca", a combination of self-camera.

for a while back in 2012 i kept calling them selcas.

long before selfie there was selca(self-camera), the korean phenom of the word.

selfie actually annoyed me since i had gotten so used to selca.

I remember hear "social justice warrior" for the first time, in about 2015. Sigh.
