How is it a scam? Its flavored caffeine, a lot of them have creatine and arginine. It's not a scam at all unless youre under some weird assumption

I take a pre-workout (Transparent Labs BULK) before working out. But to be fair, I'm pretty sure the jury is out as to just how helpful the ingredients in most pre-workouts are.. if they are at all. I've just taken one for such a long time now, it's basically a habit. If the cost is low I don't mind 'em.

The main thing you would notice would be the stimulants/caffeine, so plain black coffee is the cheapest alternative by far. You really don't need anything else. Then just lift properly and eat right.

it's science. between the short half life and absorption rate its basically useless for your workout, especially if your body's natural levels are normal, any extra you take is eliminated as waste. not to mention negative side effects like water retention/weight gain and muscle cramps

After a lifting session I drink a glass of water mixed with pure creatine monohydrate, and eat whey as a dietary supplementary, and Ive gotten along and seen excellent gains.

I guess we also have to define going to the gym. The most hype and biggest people I know down multiple scoops of preworkout or chug black coffee

On this site I see a lot of people say they go to the gym and they're cardio machines with sometimes weights

The culture of getting strong and big with deeds, squats, and bench or strongman. I see a lot of supplements they take

Yes. Back when I used to do high-volume powerlifting-based workouts in a gym, I would take a homebrewed preworkout I packed in capsules and brought with me in my backpack. Non-active, supporting ingredients were drank from a blender bottle before leaving for the gym on my mountain bike. The main active ingredients in the pills were caffeine anhydrous+DMAA (pill #1) and PEA+Hordenine (pill #2). IIRC, I would do my cardio, take pill #1, stretch for ~20mins, then take pill #2 and start my lifting workout.

Result was major improvement in the quality of my lifts, sustained motivation, and euphoria. Great workouts.

My workouts these days are shorter and mix in more cardio + HIIT. I personally don't like taking any stimulants before doing that kind of exercise.
