820

Got my credit card set on auto payment and owned a condo the last three years. I won't deny being more privileged than the average person, but it honestly hasn't been too hard reaching that score.

don't know, don't really care.

i have a 10k credit line in case of emergencies but i've never had to use it. the most i've done is use it for gas and pay it off every month to build credit, but now that i'm working from home i barely even do that.

i have no plans to finance a house or vehicle anytime soon. my landlord could care less what it is, as long as i can show him i'm making money and pay my bills on time.

The "goal" is to have a credit score of 0.

Last time I checked it was 801, down two points from 803 the year before. Not sure why but whatever. That was like 1 year and half ago, although nothing has changed so I doubt it's any different.

I have checked with the major credit bureaus recently however, just to be sure there wasn't anything on there that looked fishy

It actually fluctuates depending on your credit usage and debt owed. And age of accounts. It even changes on a monthly basis.

That's the 'decay' from non-utilization. If you're just paying down existing debt, your credit score kinda "leaks" out.

693 FICO 8 right now

I got a new card with a low limit and hit 50% utilization to get the bonus, which paid for the entirety of my Japan hotel stay. This caused my score to tank.

But usually it's in the 720s, 730s

I have 15 credit cards.

Citi Double Cash for 2% cash back

Chase Freedom for rolling 5% cash back categories.

My score is 694. Im so close to 700.

Upper 700s. The "problem" is that I have no student loans, car loans, or mortgage. I paid off my student loans shortly after college, and bought my house and car straight out with cash. Otherwise I'd most likely be in the 800s.

Credit scores are so dumb. I'm in the high 700s but if I pay off my student loan it brings my score down because the age of open accounts drops and I have no recurring payments other than my CCs.

So am I expected to pay interest on a loan just to keep an imaginary number higher? Shouldn't it give me a better score to have less debt and a history of paid-off loans rather than an open account I need to keep paying?

What did you do?!

I had 7 maxed credit cards from my younger years I stopped paying. I've been focusing on one at a time now, it's why my credit is going back up. Figured it'd be a better option than bankruptcy.

TC, you last held a job at a subway in 2010 right and have been on government assistance ever since? How has that effected your credit score? Also, have your numerous criminal convictions had an impact on your credit score and if so how?
