Math Cow, Valerie Scogin has lost her teaching job in Louisiana after she made a racially insensitive Facebook comment against Colin Kaepernick and Nike in their ad campaign in which she wrote "Tell people of THAT colour to quit acting like animals"!!

She sparked an outrage in the New Orleans suburb where screenshots were taken and circulated among students and parents

Kaepernick drew controversy when he began kneeling in 2016 during the NFL season as a way to protest racial inequality and police brutality and Nike centred its 30th anniversary on him and others of the "Just Do It" campaign that sparked outrage among conservatives who begean burning their Nike apparel in protest

Scogin wrote on her FB 2 days later "They don't have to live in that country. They could go back. But it was their own people selling them into slavery to begin with and tearing them even worse in those countries of origin. Want not to be stereotyped, tell people of that colour to quit acting like animals and perpetuating the stereotype. Many are average pepole; the few ruin it"

Many felt the comment was racist as Cadra Menard, a parent at Slidell High School said "Absolutely the connotations, you couldn't miss that, i couldn't miss that, i don't know who could. It makes me furious to know that an adult like that is able to influence our children for 8 hours a day without or say so. That just makes me really upset"

Susan Gould, another parent said she is someone she doesn't want her children to be around.

But one parent who knows Valerie has DEFENDED her saying they were not meant to be "inflammatory" as Kristan Wilson said if she didn't know her, she would see it as an insult but she does and says she worded it wrong and people took it the wrong

Valerie posted an apology against her better judgement and now wished she didn't sa that who says if people knew her, they would know she isn't racist..but it's too late as the district canned her
