The renter got a new job across the country and just basically let the place abandoned. Homeless people had broken in. It had looked like the first house from RE7. You however removed the plastic lid from the coffee cup because those annoying little holes they make in them are too small and it's aggravating to drink through. You immediately have to start your car and chase the thug.
