I am so obsessed with the game, and I honestly think it's perfect as far as gameplay mechanics go. There are some obvious balance issues and stuff but they constantly update it to help with them.

It's an endless grind, it takes way too long to unlock things that are just going to lower the odds of getting the things you do want.

The physics are really fun though.

There's only 3 bosses (4 but you only fight 3 at a time)

That's not really losing a lot of progress. Going from start to finish takes about an hour if your playing slow and careful or 20 minutes if you're super fast and tearing shit up.

Its a pretty great game, Ive been playing it on Switch. Not necessarily sure its GotY material, but its well worth it, especially at $35.

Agreed though it's a great game but highly doubtful it's GotY.

Edit: Not even sure it beats Wizard of Legend TBH. It's freaking great though so I'm sure with a bit more time I'll find it better.

Yeah, I got the physical Switch cart at Gamestop though so it was probably a bit more expensive thanks to that. Still a great value for an awesome game. Im hoping theyll add even more levels and other content eventually.

If you enjoy fun combat and the whole death/slow progression system, you can't do much better than Dead Cells atm

Yeah same here, I decided to get it during that whole forged review scenario cause I'm a sucker for roguelikes and man was I impressed. Far funnier than I ever expected too which is a nice touch.

Plus like a million Easter eggs.

The appeal to me is that it has the difficulty of a game like Dark Souls, with the fun, smooth gameplay, of a 2D platformer like SOTN. The game it most reminds me of is Salt and Sanctuary which was amazing as well, but this game just has better gameplay I think.
