Whenever a single player game succeeds you see a whole lot of Reddit posters say "fuck you EA" like they proclaimed that single player games are dead.

As far as I can tell people think they cancelled the Visceral Star Wars game because it was a linear single player game but that's not true at all.

The closest quote I can find is this;
"As we kept reviewing the game, it continued to look like a much more linear game [which] people don't like as much today as they did five years ago or 10 years ago," Jorgensen said during the Credit Suisse Technology, Media & Telecom Conference this week (via DualShockers).

But he's not even wrong there. Barely anyone makes AAA linear single player games. I think people have taken this quote out of context to say that's why the game is cancelled when that wasn't the case. Even if this quote is where it all has come from people still criticize EA when an open world game succeeds which doesn't apply to his comment.
