We're keeping our budget down around $7,000, which is absolutely unheard of around here. For contrast, my brother in law got married two years ago and in him and his wife's work they "had a small wedding". Their total was around $25,000 lol. Actually one of the reasons we've had a long engagement (over two years) is cuz we're taking the extra time to save money so we can pay everything upfront. My number one pick for the reception was a music venue, her pick was a historical farm. We went with the farm cuz it was cheaper, and cuz it has live animals. TBH I don't remember how much I spent on her ring. We simply went to the district office office, got our marriage license and then did dinner.
