I'm sure the dates don't actually match up, but it's strange how similar these games are in general design philosophy.

Ok, Zelda's Adventure came out June '94 while Virtual Hydlide came out April '95 so it's unlikely they were codeveloped...

But Virtual Hydlide was originally published by Sega, and during that time Sega would directly ripoff any move Nintendo made so it's possible this was meant to be the "Zelda's Aventure Killer"... as it was practically a launch title for the Saturn in the West... (their philosophy changed in 1995 though as they shifted to beat Playstation in technical aspects when they did Rad Racer and Virtua Cop)

EDIT: The Saturn lineup from 1996 and up is basically "do what playstation is doing, but at 60fps)
