I just came in "hot" and romped a curb HARD.... my whole bottom end thing is dragging and I dont k ow what to do.

Im seriously freaking out.... can I rip it off or tape it back?? Ive read its a heat shield... possibly..

Basically its towarfs my front end and it now dragging. Does anyone have advice??

I owe 20k its a 2017l6 prius and im freaking the fuck out as I have to take my kid to school on Monday

its a plastic cover that connects to the bumper cover. all it does is take any damage from road debris being flung up instead of your oil pans

sounds like the underbody splash shield. no biggie. it's useful for keeping road grime from getting into your engine bay, but it's not a structural component and isn't necessary for safe operation of the vehicle

replacing it may not be covered under your warranty depending on the terms, and you can easily spend a couple hundred bucks in parts and labor getting it replaced

Don't those sometimes impact aerodynamics removing them?

tc its a plastic skirt that just acts as a physical shield from dirt getting into the undercarriage, its not a big issue. tape the bitch back on, or see if you can't remount it (they can just pop loose when you bottom out. hell you can just rip the damn thing off.
