The entire premise is the doctors banging each other, and very few love interests have been non-doctors, and when they are non-doctors it's so cheating on them to bang a doctor will be more dramatic. All I know about Grey's Anatomy is no matter how popular of a character you are, don't cross Shonda Rhimes.
