Good. I hate games that punish you for using the tools you're given. I beat the game with stealth and non lethal. It wasn't fun imo.

So you should have played it without using stealth while killing everyone. The game gave you multiple ways to play, so it's your fault for not taking advantage of it.

Yeah, and then it would punish me with the bad ending, rat swarms, and zombie people. I think that's crap design.

How are any of those punishments?

The game rewarded your killing people by giving you more people to kill. How is that bad?

I truly do not know how to answer this. I find it to be self evident.

I don't really see how. When you do a lot of killing, the game gives you more stuff to kill. Rats, weepers, and guards. As for the ending, why does it matter if you get the bad ending? Dishonored isn't a heavily story driven game. Getting an ending you don't like doesn't invalidate everything else the game does right.

I don't blame you for disliking stealthy, non-lethal play, because that was Dishonored's biggest flaw in my opinion. You are very limited in what you can use if you're trying to not kill anyone while remaining undetected. The sequel fixed that issue though.

you know how sometimes people forget to wash the dishes or neglect to scrub a bathtub? It's like that. Sometimes people just get so caught up with work they lack the energy to always clean up after themselves. Sometimes people forget.

It makes me sad there are so many people who get upset over consequences over their actions in a game.

This is why narrative choices are usually so watered down. Everyone needs to feel like the hero.

I was speaking about Dishonored specifically. I don't think it's good game design to lock the player out of the real ending if he or she decides to use the fun arsenal they are given.

And you're lying. I have utterly botched stealth on some parts and gotten into fights. I still walk out with low chaos. To get high chaos you have to go out of your way and alert and kill damn near everyone on the map.

I think you're kinda missing his point. The first Dishonored just doesn't give you many interesting options to play non-lethally. You get sleep darts, a couple powers, and the ability to choke people if you're right behind them. That's it. But if you intentionally go around and kill people, you get to use everything. Dishonored has the reputation of a stealth game where you try to avoid killing, but I think the series is at its best when you are loud and lethal. The DLC and its sequels are much better at giving you more options to play non-lethally. Dishonored 2 is superior partly because of that.

I just think the bad ending issue people have with the game is absurd. It's meaningless, and I don't understand how it could completely invalidate the gameplay.
