So many movies have one regular human take on hundreds of bad guys who are bigger than them and often fights many of them at once.

These movies always explain these feats with "oh well they are SPY TRAINED. THEY HAVE ELITE KNOWLEDGE ON HOW TO FIGHT"

Yet we see in real life who the best fighters are on earth, through the UFC, and there is no spy magic mumbo jumbo fighting and human beings are incredibly limited and even elite fighters are constrained to fighting within their weight because they would get rocked by someone heavier who knew how to fight.

So where did this dumb shit come from and why does it prevail in all of media.

To be fair in UFC you're generally fighting against someone equally well trained, and in those types of movies said characters often struggle against someone just as qualified.

A better comparison would be a UFC fighter going up against a bunch of white belts with weapons.

UFC fighters aren't even better stand up fighters than boxers. There's also A LOT of things you can't do in UFC that you can do in a real life or death fight. Like clawing, scratching, choking (besides the obvious submissions), joint manipulation, headbutts, elbows the back of the head, kneeing or kicking someone on the ground from a standing position, etc.

UFC's just a sport. It's not close to the best fighters on Earth. We see random people literally rise to the top every few years and make the other fighters look trash and rightfully so.
