At least before if it didn't get nom'd people would just be like "Oh, that's the Oscar's, never giving superhero films any credit", but now it just feels like they're pandering to the masses instead of either owning up to their current BP criteria or altering the criteria to give more mainstream films a chance to be considered in the main category.
