Pod coffee is definitely cheaper compared to cafe-bought barista coffee but it is still significantly more expensive then grinding your own beans right?

I think it's like a dollar a pod or something. And then another hundred or so for the machine. Though, you can get something that fits inside of the machine that you can put your own ground coffee in.

Even if it's like 10c a pod though, it's still likely more expensive than grinding your own beans. (More wasteful too...)

On a per cup basis, it's way more expensive than drip coffee or self-ground coffee, for sure. I also think it tastes worse, but that's just my opinion.

It's 50 cents per pod for lesser known brands. Typically 67 cents for more well known companies.

That being said you can buy reusable pods that you fill with coffee grounds as an ultra cheap alternative..

Nespresso is about 50 to 70 cents a pod.

Not a fan of drip coffee. I like the crema.

But paying $4 for a coffee at the cafe (captive-market premium) really adds up.

We use Great Value brand french roast pods and I love them. Just a teapoon of sugar and it tastes great, not too bitter, not too sweet. We get other brands sometimes but Great Value is cheap enough to buy in larger quantities.
