YES!

I can't remember how I did it any more... Might have been messing with a key ring or trying to open something with my thumbnail... But I got a pretty deep split in my thumbnail that went into the nail bed.

It was a pretty bad nagging pain for a long time, but I figured it'd heal pretty quickly. NOPE. I kept re-aggravating it just using my thumb normally on a daily basis. If I reached into my pockets for my keys, sometimes it'd split worse. If I brushed it up against my pants wrong, it'd split worse. Every day, something would happen to it.

After about a week of that happening over and over, I decided to cut my thumbnail super short and just keep cutting it short until the split grew out. Fortunately that worked. Months later, my thumbnail is normal.
