It's been at least a century since the idea of Communism came about and people sought to try it out; yet in all that time it's worked out exactly 0 times. Every nation that's tried it has had things like mass economic collapse or mass murder happen within its borders. I can't think of a single nation that didn't have some horrible atrocity happen as well as manage to even maintain the standard of living (nevermind improving it). Yet it seems people keep insisting it will work THIS time and the last times weren't 'real' Communism. Seems like an insanely stupid cop-out. Put an unrealistic standard at the pinnacle that cannot be obtained then, when you fail, claim it wasn't 'real communism' and, since nothing could realistically reach that fantasy ideal, you'd technically be right.

Communism is supposed to be classless, and invariably all attempts rapidly establish a small super-class that controls everything.

Probably communists.

Communists would try to say it's because the oppressive thumb of capitalism squashed it out before it could flourish... which is obvious bullshit. And to the anti capitalists, you could just as easily argue that pure capitalism hasn't been truly attempted either. Both arguments are ignorant because there will always be variables that prevent any economic system from working purely as intended

Nah, communism doesn't work because communism is inherently a paradox. You cannot have a classless autocracy, it's impossible.

That's a very simplistic- not to mention inaccurate- view of Venezuela's political history.

Anyway, I don't think that there are a whole lot of people who do. Communism is one of those political ideologies that sounds really good to some people on paper but doesn't really function in practice because it fails to take human nature into account, lol. "If only everyone was a perfect angel and did everything X way, everything would be great!" Yeah, okay. Pft.
