They picked stuff out of a couple people's cans, looks like they left a note or some shit on the cans that that removed stuff from. I'm tempted to go see what the note on my neighbors can says but I know they are home right now.

Some people tan the cans to get money for them at the recycling place. Also, can you ask your neighbors what the note says?

It could be the city. I got notified that this summer (letter in the mail at beginning of the summer) that teams of high school age kids were hired to check the conditions of garbage and recycling carts and to leave notes on ones that were deemed in need of replacement. We would then have to call the number for a replacement. It is dumb that they just didn't put in the order as they checked them, but whatever.

They're just high schoolers. So, maybe they thought that they would mess up. Or mess with people. Or whatever. But it would've been nice to have them put in the order...

Did you ever find out SMT? Or did you go check the neighbor's note? Did they get a replacement bin or whatever?

If its anything like my neighborhood, the city (or whoever works for them) sometimes go street to street and leave notes on bins because they're overstuffed or contain a hazmat item (mostly car parts)

Garbage truck driver sees the note and skips the bin until its up to par

I'm about 29ish

They put stickers on the lids that say what you can and can't put in. The note was what they took out and a reminder not to put them in.
