All Synder really would need to do is look at STAS/JL Lex and basically copy that. You can still do your original story, hell you can still have Jesse play him. But that Lex is basically the best parts of the character distilled. Actually, one of the DCAU's best features is its ability to take characters with decades of history, stories, and characterizations and boil them down to their core essence.
