Yes, if a conviction can be gotten with illegal evidence then a cop could get away with breaking into random homes hopping to come across a crime to justify it afterwords.

I may have illegally broken into 20 houses without finding anything but look I caught a guy doing weed on the 21st house.

Yeah. Cops shouldn't be able to go on a fishing expedition just to get convictions. Otherwise it opens it up to privacy violations and other abuses.

Yes. If police are willing to illegally obtain evidence in a case, then as far as I'm concerned there's reasonable doubt about the voracity of the base evidence that they're also presenting. Gives the impression that they're more interested in getting a conviction versus actually getting the right guy, and as such there's a reasonable concern that they were not carrying out an investigation with all due process in mind and were targeting someone that they weren't 100% sure on or someone that they decided was an easy bust instead.

Irregardless, for all intensive purposes, I could care less.

I don't believe the suspect should "get away" with the crime, more like the police and prosecutors need to reevaluate their case if they're even entertaining the notion of using illegally obtained evidence. If they can't do that, then they have no case. Period.
