Lost among the news surrounding the CPC 's failed vote to re-open the abortion debate during their convention (which still saw a a successful vote to ban abortion from overseas maternal and child health programs where Canadian aid is delivered and actual people wearing "Hamish Said Hi" buttons") was the passing of two new policies for the party to adopt:
1. Limit citizenship rights for people born in Canada to non-Canadian parents 2. Then Trump happened, driving the moderates to the left. Then Scheer happened, and anyone who didn't wan't Harper 2.0 left the party. Then Trudeau showed he could stand up to Trump, driving his support. Then Saudi Arabia happened, and people had to choose between Trudeau and a literal terrorist state. Then Bernier happened, and people had to choose between wet paper bag Scheer or "I might be a racist but at least I have a single personality trait" Bernier. Misleading title. A party has it as one of their goals but that party has to get there first which doesn't seem likely.
