I saw right into the abyss and understood just how messed up the world really is.

We're all standing on top the wobbling tower that is civilization and all our worst nightmares are just waiting to come true.

Never had that kind of emotional understanding before. Like Buddha leaving his father's palace and seeing what was beyond the walls.

Thankfully, we have Cthulhu and the rest of the unimaginable horrors to get us through life.

Very true. I tried living in that abyss for a year or two, true nihilism, and man, you gotta be strong to live with that mindset. I wasn't able to come up with goals or plans because I went too far into the "none of this matters" stuff.

None of it matters while all of it matters.

It's almost liberating at the same time. It's super easy to dwell on the fact that we could all lose our jobs and die, but then you realize you're going sane-- not crazy. Once you come to terms with the fact that the worst is capable of happening at any second, you're free. All that you've got to do now is be the best person you can be, learn to let go, and always love.

Working in a team is great! It always helps to have someone else to blame.

You stated that very well and with a lot of truth. My problem was that even the things I enjoyed, the things I was good at, I wrapped those up in the same feeling and idea that "none of this matters, so why do it?" and that was the wrong way to look at it. I gave no value to the wrong things and it made life miserable for a while. Luckily, I've been able to just build up from there and have found personal meaning in some things again while still accepting and being content with the reality we live in.
