Took a lot of pain and effort to get to this stage, but I remember how down and depressed and aimless I was when I was in my late teens and early 20s. Didn't care much for living back then tbqh.

But five years after my most crippling bout of depression, I've come so far that I can hardly believe it! I just love life tbqh.

Learning new things for the joy of learning and getting better at what I enjoy is so fun. Getting paid and watching the money go into various accounts every two weeks is so satisfying. Traveling to different states and going on random long drives and weekend road trips is amazing. Meeting new people and having exciting optimistic conversations about the future is so awesome. And chatting it up with potential long-term mates is also super exciting. And planning more trips to other countries is also exciting!

I regret not disciplining myself sooner, because life could've been this way even at the start of my 20s. Better late than never though. I know some people who are still paralyzed by fear/indecision/laziness even into their 30s and 40s so I'm glad I snapped out of it in my early 20s.

Don't squander your youth by being complacent and by finding shelter in the depression you've grown accustomed to. Life goes by fast and you'll lose so many years that way. Life's way better when you leave the bubble and grow and seek new opportunities.

Had a very similar experience in my early 20s, in a much better place now, feel like life is pretty damn awesome. Wish I had been more psychologically balanced in my youth but maturity doesnt come without its share of hurdles

too bad i have almost no respect for modern culture and the common behavior of people my same age. i know i'm missing out in general but at least i'm used to pursuing my subjects and interests in my own way and not putting up with nonsense in an atmosphere of superficiality and social complaisance

Happy for you. Might just be our generation. Had a hard time in the early twenties. Late twenties have been great though. Happier now than I've ever been. Best wishes for continued success.

yeah man, i think our generation of men was severely stunted because of how lopsided the education system is

i think this is a coping mechanism you use to make yourself feel better about being complacent and undisciplined. because if you really felt that way, you wouldn't have bothered to even comment this way. imo you wouldve just kept doing your own thing without needing to justify your view.

i think youd be a lot happier if you put in much more effort into attaining what you know you deeply desire. with all due respect of course. youre a smart enough dude and you could accomplish great things. but it seems like youre allowing yourself to become comfortable with a lesser lot in life even though you could have much more.
