I'm not asking for Pokemon to look like Skyrim but considering the sheer amount of money this franchise makes, the developers could do a lot better. Nintendo's biggest franchises are taking huge leaps. Why can't Pokemon do the same?

Because the fans are okay with the same game every couple of years.

I blame the fans more than Gamefreak. If say gen 3 or gen 4 happened and no one buys them. They would be forced to up their game for the next game.

EDIT Im not talking about the graphics here, im talking about the gameplay. Still being locked and scrolling camera. Theres no reason how the game cant be 3d by now. Just look at the trailers for Lets Go Pikachu/Eevee. Its the same game with a new skin.

Of course, graphics aren't everything, it's two different art styles, and the Gen 8 games are supposed going to have the best graphics in the series, but seeing the Yo-Kai Watch picture and comparing it to Let's Go makes me a bit of a sad panda.

Let's Go is obviously designed based on the style of Pokemon Go, so I don't see the issue. It's not even a main game, it's a separate spinoff that is itself a remake of Yellow.
