I've been using it to listen to a lot of classic fiction, especially mysteries. I've listened to a ton of Sherlock Holmes and Agatha Christie stuff.

Same. Listened to the last 4 books in the Wheel of Time series and Neuromancer at work in the past month or so. Makes the day go by quicker

I get CDs from the library. Got through the second half of Wheel of Time that way, and am now a good ways into ASoIaF. Sometimes they skip but eh

I got a new car with an AUDIO JACK so maybe now I can join the 21st century and run them through my phone or smth

audible is kind of garbage imo, there used to be tons of audiobook subs that let you listen to as many audio books as you wanted a month, audible bought them out so it could be the top dog with its "one audio book a month for an insanely high amount of money"

yeah i thought this was the case for audible but after a short amount of time of looking into it, quickly found out it was not. $15 a month was a bit more than i was expecting honestly but i guess i get it since the cost of audiobooks doesn't really differ from the cost of new physical books. and they let you keep the audiobook even if you cancel apparently which i guess other services don't?

i'm on the audible free trial right now. i might get too used to listening to stuff while driving to the point where i just keep the subscription.

I mean maybe if you only listen a few hours every week it's not too bad, but for someone like me that has 8 hours of listening to fill a day, one audio book a month is not really useful.

I listen to audiobooks whenever I'm doing tasks. I haven't really considered doing it while working (I prefer listening to music), but I may give that a shot. I have like 7 books I haven't read. I do non-fiction, but I mainly listen to political history books. The LBJ Biography by Robert Caro is all on there and I listened to the first 2 books and it was really good.

For what it is worth, there are a bunch of audiobooks on sale on Audible right now for $5. The majority weren't for me but there were a couple that caught my eye.

Don't forget to check if your library lets you download audiobooks from their website! Almost all US libraries have digital collections of ebooks and audiobooks. If you don't have a library card, some of them even let you instantly get a card online for their digital stuff...

(...I uh may work for a company that creates such websites for libraries <_< )
