Holy crap did they actually learn something and make a change? That doesn't seem right. Maybe they'll even run a viable candidate in 2020

Good to see they went through with this. It's much more than what they were originally talking about in 2016, where supers would just control 20% of the vote.

Fucking great. Superdelegates sounded like the least democracy-related thing ever >_>

They're not completely gone or powerless, but this is a major improvement.

The idea was to prevent the rank-and-file from nominating some one like McGovern.
Like most such "reforms", it became the mechanism that helped enable the rise of one the most disastrous candidates ever(Hillary Clinton).

I mean without the superdelegates you'll have people like Bernie Sanders or Alexandria OC nominated, which is what the people want but if they get their way with legislation they could seriously hurt the country.

As a Bernie fan, idk. They made caucuses easier to vote in which is where he overperformed in the 2016 primaries

You can vote in them now without being there. Which erases the advantage he had, where his most zealous supporters would show up, and since they were well-read on him they were able to convert other people over due to how caucuses encourage discussion. When you have absentee ballots you can forgo the often time-consuming caucus process and avoid the people who come there to convince you to vote for their candidate of choice

Step in the right direction but this:
"state parties will still include diversity requirements in their delegate selection rules, and that superdelegates can still endorse and advocate for candidates"

Why not just get rid of them? After all they have been complaining about how unfair the EC is while creating a form of it within their own nomination process.
