Current Events > Perfect house but it's in the hood

I found a nice house for rent the will let me keep my dog, but it's in my old neighborhood that wasn't very good when I lived there the first time. It farther from my job also, but I'd be paying almost the same as I would for my apartment. Honestly the thing bothering me the most is the fact that I come home at 4am and I'd rather not be out there at the time.

Ultimately it's my decision, but I'm curious on what you guys would do.

I would not. A nice place in the middle of a bad neighborhood in itself has so many flags, high risk of theft and if you don't feel safe that early in the morning, it isn't worth the stress.

There was a couple of good restaurants when I was a kid. There was a place down the street from my house that had some decent bbq. Maybe I'll drive down there during the week.

Yeah if I was coming home before midnight or 1am regularly it might be an easier decision. I've been practicing at the gun range anyway because of that.

And let me tell you that was the most wild shit I have ever seen. I wouldn't last five seconds on those streets

Oh no, I've been practicing because on top of wanting to learn proper usage on my own, I leave work between 2 and 5 am. Even if I decide to stay near my current place I'd be on my own and would be better having the protection.
